Remembering Our Lost Loved Ones With Self-Compassion
Remembering our lost loved ones can bring up a variety of thoughts and emotions. Sometimes we replay the last days and hours of our loved ones, wondering why we didn’t stay longer at their bedside or tell them we loved them one last time. Sometimes we ruminate over our failures or imperfections at this most tender and traumatic time. We might review each and every last conversation or interaction with our loved ones. We may even blame ourselves for their departure.
Losing someone we love is a rupture of the heart. We feel utterly split open and unable to move forward.
It is vital that we give ourselves grace–-self-compassion and loving kindness. We are mere humans and we do our level best, especially at end of life experiences with our loved ones. As you move through your grief process, no matter where you find yourself in that journey, take a moment to place your hand over your heart and breath in and breath out slowly. Send yourself love and kindness. If you are unable to do this for yourself, ask something larger than you to bless you with Divine Empathy .
Our loved ones only want us to be happy and to live a life that is worth living. If you find yourself in a space of grief and loss that is acute, and you are unable to navigate your path forward, please reach out to us. We can companion you on this transformative path and offer you neuro-somatic therapies that effectively foster lasting healing and transformation.
